Locking your bike is essential in most urban areas. Unfortunately, nothing will prevent a determined and well equipped bike thief so you need to think about what the best lock will be for where you are going to be leaving your bicycle. The most secure locks tend to be a lot heavier which might be cumbersome if you are only leaving it outside a cafe or parking it at school.
